This sensory canoe was great for my toddler. He enjoyed sitting in between the walls and hiding in there as well. The canoe was very easy to assemble. There is just a base piece and the two sides go on the base. They all attach to each other via Velcro. The material is soft like a cushion and much better than inflatable versions of sensory canoes. The fabric cover is also removable so it can be washed if needed. The canoe was a bit larger than I expected but that makes it more fun to play with.

My kids absolutely love this sensory chair! They read in it, they hang out in it, they play in it, but more importantly it helps them calm down when they're overstimulated. It took a bit of getting used to (they weren't sure about hanging out inside of a confined space) but once they got the hang of it they started to love it.

Our main issue is that it's kinda big for a smaller space, so buyer beware - it takes up space!

I ordered the TED Kangaroo Sensory Chair for my 22-month-old granddaughter to see if it might help her to self-soothe, which is a current issue. It's a bit large for her at this point. She is able to climb in and out of it, but the sides are pretty high on her body. It's probably best for a child who's a bit older than her. She will grow into it, though. The suggested age range starts at 3, so she is truly a bit small for it at this point. The blue material is very soft to the touch and feels high-quality. However, I find that hair collects on the material and isn't easy to remove. It's likely more noticeable to me because I have a solid white dog that sheds like crazy and the sensory chair is navy blue. Good news is that the cover is removeable for washing, though I haven't attempted to remove it, yet, The sensory chair comes vacuum sealed, much like a memory foam mattress. It immediately grew to size when I removed the plastic. I am really impressed with the build quality. The sides of the sensory chair are a generous 5.5" thick sturdy foam. The sides are very stable as my granddaughter climbs over them. The bottom panel is 2" thick with a slip-resistant material on the bottom. The bottom of the canoe sides have wide Velcro that attaches to the bottom panel to keep everything firmly secured together. Assembly is as easy as matching up the sides to the bottom and pressing them together so the Velcro sticks. The side panels came attached and I have elected to leave them in their original placement, though they can be adjusted as needed. I am really impressed with the quality of this pea pod chair and feel confident in recommending it to anyone who has a child that may benefit from the design. I look forward to watching my granddaughter grow into the sensory chair.

Love that it's foam and not inflatable. Can't be popped. You can make it tighter/smaller or more roomy, because the base is velcro onto it, makes it more functional based on current needs. Very sturdy.
Great size that doesn't take up the entire room.
Super easy yo set up, just unpack it and it expands.
Pricey, but worth it.

It was fun watching it expand and grow to its full size after opening up the wrapping. We were unsure at first especially with the $150 amount. We cannot get the little one to get out of the canoe. Works great for sitting in and watching a movie with the family and remaining calm. Works great for relaxing and reading a book. Fun new thing for the corner. It's the same size as mentioned in the listing but at about 4 feet long we were a little surprised. Nonetheless very happy with our new canoe. Very easy to open and setup and actually a great value for the price. Good quality isn't cheap.

I now have a permanent canoe attraction in my living room! It can be used for sensory needs, a calming space or for imaginative play. My 5 year old refuses to get out of it let alone put it away. Shes a compression seeker so this sensory canoe works great at helping her satisfy that need. It provides her with just the right amount of pressure without feeling restricted and unable to move. It also gives her the space she needs to settle in and get a nice big hug. I tried it myself and found it fairly comfortable and relaxing. However my older daughter wasn't a fan, so it's definitely not meant for everyone. If it's meant for you, you'll know.

Assembly was simple as it comes in 3 separate parts that attach with hook and loop strips sewn securely on the outer fabric, which is also soft to the touch. This allows the canoe to be adjusted to accommodate the desired level of compression. The canoe is made with foam that is firm enough to hold shape but also soft enough for comfort. The outer fabric can also be removed and washed.

It does have a slight chemical smell coming out the box which is to be expected, so we just let it air out a bit and it's good now.

This sensory canoe is a pretty solid piece and I'm happy that my daughter now has another tool in her toolbox.
