I ordered the Smiling Critters Sensory Soft Squeeze Seat with a few specific students in mind for our classroom calming corner. As a teacher of children ages
3–6, I am always looking for tools that provide meaningful sensory input, especially for children who seek deep pressure, hugs, or squeezes to help them regulate their emotions and focus.

Before bringing it into the classroom, my son had the opportunity to test it out at home, and he has absolutely loved it. He immediately commented on how comfortable it feels and often chooses to sit in it while building with blocks, completing puzzles, or reading books. The gentle compression created by the seat provides a cozy, secure feeling that many children find calming.
I appreciate the thoughtful design of this sensory seat. As children settle into it, the sides naturally hug their body, providing comforting deep pressure input without the need for straps or adjustments. TED KANGAROO sensory rocking chair arrived well packaged and was completely vacuum sealed, making the box surprisingly compact. One feature I appreciated is that no assembly was required. Once opened, the chair expanded into shape and was ready to use. The foam fabric feels soft and comfortable to the touch, and the cushioning provides good support. My child immediately enjoyed the gentle side-to-side rocking motion. The seat is fairly deep, which helps keep my kid seated securely while reading, watching TV, or relaxing. The high backrest was the most impressive feature for me. It feels sturdy and supportive, and it comfortably held even my weight when I tested it. Despite being lightweight, the chair does not feel flimsy. Another practical feature is the removable zippered cover. Being able to take the cover off for cleaning is especially helpful for with my toddler. I have a little guy who is seven years old and on the spectrum. He’s minimally verbal but makes requests such as “squeeze” when he wants a tight hug and he loves to find nooks and tighter spots to sit in.

I have a little reading area set up for my kids and this pillow seat is so great for them. My son especially loves it and I think the sides give him a lot of comfort. I see him turning it on its side often to sit like a rocking horse. While it doesn’t quite function that way he still enjoys playing and squishing it. It’s a really great quality memory foam type insert. Kids can stand on it and it bounces right back to its original shape.

The blue color cover is soft and inviting. It does show every crumb or piece of lint so I tend to vacuum or use a lint roller to keep it free of debris.

It’s amazing how they package it and get it so compact. It’s pretty amazing to see it become this big pillow in a matter of seconds. It doesn’t take much time at all for the pillow to take shape and be ready to use.

It can be tricky to know which sensory products will best support your little one but I think this pillow seat is great for any kid really. It’s versatile and just a really fun shape.

I'm an OT and got this chair to help with my patients that have sensory needs. Overall, I think it is effective, good quality, and a great tool for OT or home use.

Effectiveness: This chair is helpful for stimming, calming, and even helping kids focus on a task requiring listening or talking. It truly has a calming, focusing effect on children and makes a difference during OT sessions or even at home with my own child with ADHD.

Durability/Quality: The foam and fabric are good quality and sturdy. The washable cover is difficult to take off and put back on because it fits so snug to the foam (it's very similar to trying to remove/put on a foam couch cushion cover), but the fabric is easy to wipe clean. The zipper on the fabric is sturdy. The fabric does gather lint, dust, and hair quickly and easily, especially on dusty floors or wool rugs.

Size/Comfort: It is better for kids - teenagers and adults over 5.5 feet tall fit in it, but it doesn't have as much of a hugging effect as it does with kids under 5 feet tall. Kids under 5 ft tall are also able to rock it comfortably with their knees. People over 5 feet tall have their knees are up pretty high when using it. The foam is thick, soft enough to sit in, but firm enough to hold its shape during repeated rocking.

I have this set up in my quiet area, and it's been such a calming spot for little ones who need a moment to reset. The gentle motion helps them relax, and the sturdy design feels safe and supportive. It’s easy to clean and move around, which makes it ideal for daycare use. A wonderful tool for helping children self-regulate and find peace during busy days.

This sensory rocker has been an excellent addition to our livingroom tools for the kiddos. We have 4 younger kids in the family who have some regulation struggles, so we are always on the lookout for new tools to help them learn to calm that internal anxiety.

This chair is fantastic, and even though 2 of the kids are extremely rough and tumble, the second they sit down in this they intuitively rock gently side to side. After using it for a few days, our 4 year old taught his 7 year old cousin to rock soft when she visited, without ever having been taught it himself. We didn't tell the kids how to use it, just set it out, so that hug design really works well.

This chair is sturdy and durable, impressively so, and rough-housing around it isn't a danger to the kids or the chair. It wipes clean easily, and I feel like the design and quality makes it worth every penny in our family. Highly recommend, awesome tool!

I have an almost 2 year old and almost 7 year old and they both have loved using this from the moment I opened it! They both really like rocking back and forth on it and I’ll find my older kid sitting in the middle playing games or watching tv. It also has wide sides so he’s enjoyed a snack while snuggled in there because there’s a wide ‘armrest’ to set things. I’ve found that it’s definitely calmed both of them down - but also caused some chaos when they both want on it at the same time lol!
The material is soft but I will say it does seem to collect debris from the ground easily when moved around. Luckily though the cover is removable so it’s easy to wash!
For something like this the price is really what I would expect, the product is really good quality and my kids love it.

These pillows are top notch for quality! The fabric is thick and durable, yet smooth and soft. The pillow cover is zipped on so it’s able to be removed and washed. I was very impressed with the packaging - it had multiple layers of vacuum sealed packaging keeping the pillow well protected during shipping. It comes with an instructions card that explains the various ways to use this particular pillow, but also shows the variety of pillows also available from this company. It’s recommended for kids with autism and ADHD, but my boys use it for sensory feedback while learning to process their emotions (like anger or frustration).
