This chair was made of very thick quality material that impressed me. Not only do my kids like this chair my dogs have claimed it for themselves occasionally too. I would say it probably wouldn't fit a kid older than 8? My kids are tall for their ages and 8 and 10 and it's a far stretch. But my 8 yr old son said it's comfortable. The effectiveness of a chair is good. Doesn't take up a large space either. It is worth a shot for me and for anyone interested. The foam pieces are very thick, and continue to fluff up after a couple days even.

This is a great little chair for any kid, but particularly for children who are soothed by the sensation of being slightly compressed. There's a small triangular insert for the seat that is removable. With the insert removed, the child sinks into the opening a little further creating more of a hugging effect.

I've found that the memory foam pieces really have the best longevity for cushions to hold their shape. I kept having to repurchase body pillows, for instance, and when I finally got one with the memory foam segments, it's lasted for years. For that reason, I'm confident this chair will hold it's shape much better than bean bags with styro or poly fill, which gets flat and has to be refilled continuously.

This chair sprang up almost immediately after coming out of the shrink wrap and continued to get fluffier over the next day. The outer fabric seems pretty easy to care for and spot clean. Everything about this chair feels durable and sturdy. Wish it had more color options!

This sensory chair has been amazing for my almost-2-year-old kiddo. It arrived ultra compacted, and took less than 3 hours to actually fluff up. Since the interior is foam-based, it's STILL expanding, but it was useable for us after 3-4 hours. The chair is two pieces, a large angular seat, and a removable cushion for the innermost "seating" section of the chair. This can be removed as my child gets older, or as they need more of a tightly-hugging calming feeling.

The fabric is smooth and somewhat soft; its texture indicates that it will be much easier to clean than something with a fuzzy texture. My kiddo gets pretty messy, so I'm grateful that this won't turn into a matted mess. We have also been able to stretch a standard sized crib sheet over the top of the chair for an extra layer of protection. It may not look super glamorous, but it certainly makes cleaning up spills (and drool) a lot easier.

Our daughter is learning to self-regulate, and we don't do any screen time, so this has been a really nice find for our family. It provides her a space to relax, AND calm down. And it doesn't take up too much space either!
