I'm a school-based pediatric OT, and I already love Ted Kangaroo products. In fact, you can actually spot a couple of their other sensory pieces lurking in my photos. I was excited about this barrel. I was also a little hesitant because my space is small. I was picturing kids rolling merrily across the room while I rearranged furniture and questioned my choices.

Turns out, you really don't need a huge runway for this to be worthwhile.

The kids LOVE it. They crawl through it, curl up inside it, rock and flip around in it, and, as kids tend to do, find approximately 37 uses for it that never occurred to the occupational therapist who actually ordered it. It provides lots and lots of vestibular input, even without enough room for long-distance rolling.

What I especially like from an OT perspective is that it can serve multiple and very different sensory needs. Kids can get active movement and vestibular input from rocking, rolling, and flipping, but they can also curl up inside and use it as a cozy little enclosed space to "get away" for a few minutes. It can also be used for some proprioceptive input as a roller and even for a little heavy work as a turtle or armadillo shell. I consider the flexibility a huge win.

The technical stuff...It arrived surprisingly compactly packaged, which made me wonder how an entire sensory barrel was hiding in that box. Once unpacked, though, it became a substantial and very usable piece of equipment. It has a zipper cover so it can be removed and washed if needed.

For my small school-based therapy space, this has been a fantastic addition. Five stars from the OT and considerably more from the kids.

I ordered this amazing Ted Kangaroo Sensory Barrel Roll Chair to use both at home and in my kindergarten classroom, and it has quickly become a favorite. My son already loves his Ted Kangaroo sensory chairs, and he spends a lot of time in them on the weekends. He especially enjoys using them while reading, taking a break, or listening to audiobooks. Many times, we hear him happily rolling around in the Barrel Roll Chair while listening to a story. He also uses the Ted Kangaroo sensory barrel chair for building forts.

I really like that these chairs give him a comfortable place to get the movement and sensory input he needs while also providing a calming space to reset. If he feels like he needs a break, he knows he can choose one of his Ted Kangaroo chairs and relax for a while. I love having a sensory option that encourages him to recognize when he needs a break and choose a tool that helps him feel comfortable and regulated.

As a kindergarten teacher, I can also see so many possibilities for using this chair in the classroom. It provides movement, deep pressure, and a cozy space for children who need a little sensory break during their day.

The chair feels durable and well made, and I appreciate that it is designed to be easy to clean, especially important when using sensory furniture with children.

Okay so I got this sensory barrel roll chair for my grandsons, and it has been such a fun addition for them! I love that it gives them something different to play with while also keeping them active and engaged. They really enjoy climbing into it, rolling around, and playing inside of it. It's the kind of thing that keeps them entertained without needing a screen. The barrel is lightweight enough to move around easily, but it still feels sturdy and well made. I also really like the enclosed design because it gives them a little cozy space of their own while they play. The material is easy to wipe clean too, which is a huge plus when you have kids using it regularly. I bought it specifically for my grandsons because I wanted something fun that would encourage movement and sensory play, and this has been a great choice. They have so much fun with it, and I love seeing them use their imagination while playing with it. It's also easy to store when we aren't using it. I'm very happy with this purchase. We have this brand's sensory rocker but like this product even better. It's super simple with no setup required. It also takes up way less space. Because it's basically a barrel to roll around in, it doesn't bring out as much energy or bouncing around like the other does. If you're looking for an easy, somewhat compact piece of "furniture" to help a kid with sensory sensitivities, this one has been helpful for us.

This sensory tunnel is really nice quality. The material has a good amount of stretch while still feeling sturdy, and I like that it can provide both movement and sensory input. It is a simple concept but offers a lot of different possibilities for play. Very pleased with the quality!

This is my favorite Ted Kangaroo product I have gotten to try so far, and I have tried several, including the side-to-side rocking chair, the Hug Chair, and the Sensory Calming Corner. I got this Barrel Roll Sensory Chair for my grandson, and it has been a huge hit with him. He uses it every time he comes to our house, which is often. He likes to sink down into it, roll around in it, and even lay in it while watching TV. The quality is excellent and it feels very well made, almost like a professional-grade sensory product. Essentially, it is a huge foam cylinder with a soft felted cover that zips off for cleaning. I haven't had to wash the cover yet because I have just been using my sweeper to remove the little fuzzies that collect on the fabric, and that has worked well for keeping it looking clean. This will probably have a permanent spot in our living room because it gets used every time our grandson visits. I can already imagine him growing with this chair and finding new ways to play, move, relax, and use his imagination with it. Just like the other Ted Kangaroo products we have, this feels like a quality, thoughtfully made item designed with kids who benefit from sensory play and movement in mind. This one has definitely become a favorite in our house.
